I just love when something comes together!

Mandy is a friend from college who now lives in the Cities.

Facebook algorithms were on my side and showed Mandy some of my recent senior pictures.

Mandy reached out because she'd just been searching for a photographer for one-year and family photos.

We were able to meet within the week!

The weather held out - in fact, instead of thunderstorms, it was a crazy 80 degree day in late September.

It was a pleasure to photograph your family, Mandy, and I loved meeting Richard, Annie, and Ella!

Your girls already have sweet and audacious personalities which I hope grows and blossoms for both of them!

::| Someone Turned One!

There's something about black and white photography. 

When you're taking pictures, you're looking for colors and light.

Then when you take away the color, you're looking for something different: the lines and the textures.

You're able to look beyond the clothes and the colors.

Seeing the inside, the soul, instead of the outside.

Now, don't get me wrong, I still love a pop of color.

Lush green grass.

Brand new blue jeans.

Spring's newest flowers.

And of course, baby blue eyes.

Mr. Brodie turned one last month and we celebrated with presents, cake, and (of course) some photos.

And then these for good measure: Brodie enjoying his first birthday cake!

::|Zoe is Two!

When I see Zoe today, I still see her as a little girl, a baby, a toddler.

Then I pull out the pictures from when she was a few weeks old and one year old, 

and I start to get all misty-eyed and I use a crazy "I'm going to pinch your cheeks" voice and say things like, 

"Oh my goodness, she's just getting so big!"

This newly two-year-old is quite fantastic. She can identify letters and count. She loves kitties and puppies.

She will scrunch up her face to laugh and stare you down in wonder.

She loves blocks and dressing up. She loves selfies.

And she doesn't mind photo shoots outside or at my apartment :)
