::| Blake's Senior Photos |::

I've always been a little proud of being able to take pictures in a new place every time.
Whenever I met someone new.
Whenever someone had a new idea.
Whenever I did another photo shoot, really.

But sometimes having a good spot, a good angle, a great view....
Sometimes it's worth the time to be where you've been before.
And I'd go to Stone Arch a hundred times if all of the photos were as great as the senior photos I've had the pleasure of taking there.

::| Six Months of Twinning

Babies are practically the best thing to photograph.

They're cute. Even when they're crying.
They're expressive, even if they don't mean to be.
You're capturing moments in time.
You're documenting your family history.

That's all great, but NOBODY TOLD BABIES! Babies do not care one iota about being good photography subjects.
They change moods at the drop of a hat, they look at the grass, they get disracted by their pretty dresses, they eat the props.
All around bad photo subject manners.

Now let's go ahead and think about two babies. Double trouble indeed!

Good thing they are still the best and the cutest!

::| Someone Turned One!

There's something about black and white photography.
When you're taking pictures, you're looking for colors and light.
Then when you take away the color, you're looking for something different: the lines and the textures.
You're able to look beyond the clothes and the colors.
Seeing the inside, the soul, instead of the outside.

Now, don't get me wrong, I still love a pop of color.
Lush green grass.
Brand new blue jeans.
Spring's newest flowers.
And of course, baby blue eyes.

Mr. Brodie turned one last month and we celebrated with presents, cake, and (of course) some photos.

And then these for good measure: Brodie enjoying his first birthday cake!
