{HEM} Cousin Holly at Five Weeks

The problem with daylight savings time is this:
6:00 pm: It's so dark! I'm tired, can I go to bed? What?! It's only 6? I gotta DO something!
10:00 pm: YES! I love doing things! This is the best thing I've ever done! I should keep going!
Midnight: YES! This has been amazing and now I have a second wind!
3:00 am: OMG! I have to go to bed!

This is exactly what happened the night before I went to Holly's house.

I was perusing Pinterest (of course!) and had to check out my box of photo props.

And then I remembered that I had some great familial items that I had to find and bring:
A vintage suitcase that has my grandma's initials on it - her initials before she married my grandpa.
A handkerchief doll made by my aunt from one of my grandpa's handkerchiefs.

A very special way to include these family members in our photo shoot.
Welcome to the world, newest baby cousin!

{JHJH} A Four Pack of Reisses

Do you ever look back at how your friendships started?

Jon and I met when our two youth directors thought it would be a good idea for our youth groups to go on a Magical Mystery Tour together.
Teenagers together meant mostly trouble. Jon was lanky and awkward with insane eyebrows.
I learned his middle name. We apparently became enduring friends.

Since then there have been potlucks and birthday parties and camps and bowling and drinks and drawings.
And it all began the summer of 1998.
(on a side note, weren't the 90s like a minute ago? no? almost 20 years? cool.)

More recently, Jon married Heidi in a pasta bar!
And then there were children: Jules and Harry.
On this day, they wore sweaters.
And I took their pictures!
